M1 A1(M) Junction

Junction 48 marks the northern end of the M1 at Hook Moor near Aberford, where the motorway merges into the A1(M) towards Wetherby and the North. Heading south, Junction 47 is 1.1 miles back down the motorway; northbound, the road continues as the A1(M). Leeds Skelton Lake services are the nearest on-motorway stop, about 6.9 miles from the junction.

Aberford village centre sits 0.6 miles north of the junction, just off the M1. Garforth is 3.1 miles south-west. There are 2 places to eat and drink and 1 pub within two miles of the junction.

This is where the M1 ends, so it is rarely where a journey pauses. Heading south you have only just set out and are unlikely to be ready for a stop; coming the other way you are about to leave the motorway for the A1(M) and the North, and will probably want to push on to wherever you are actually going. If you do need to stop, Village Hall Cafe is 0.4 miles off.
