M1 Junction 1

Junction 1 is the southern end of the M1, on the edge of Brent Cross in North London, where the motorway begins at its interchange with the A406 North Circular. Northbound, the first exit is Junction 2, 2.1 miles away; there is no M1 junction to the south. The nearest motorway services are London Gateway, around 5 miles away.

Willesden lies 2 miles south of Junction 1, the nearest town to this stretch of the M1. The next sizeable centre is Hampstead, 2.7 miles south-east. This is where the M1 begins, so it is rarely where a journey pauses.
