Chievely Services Review – Oct 25

Chievely Services Main Building
Chievely Services Main Building

Chievely Services is found just off Junction 13 of the M4 Motorway. It is accessed from the roundabout as you exit at Junction 13 of the M4 and is also on the A34.

Chievely originally opened in 1986 but was not always sign posted from the M4 as it was not operating 24 hours. Now it does so is part of the established canon of M4 service stations – along with Heston, Reading and Membury.

Facilities

Chievely services has a pretty standard range of food options with Burger King, M&S, Greggs and Costa the main options. There’s a West Cornwall Pasty Company outlet but it was closed when we visited.

There is a Travelodge on site and a BP Petrol station

Prices (As of Oct 25)

ItemPrice
Fuel£1.59 / £1.69 (Petrol / Diesel)
EV charging£0.85 per kwh
Coke£2.75
Coffee£4.75
Mars Bar£1.59

A medium cappuccino from Costa at £4.75 is the highest we’re seen on the M4 so far – worryingly close to the £5!

Overall Rating

5/10 – Chievely is feeling its age and is a bit meh really. If you can push on to Reading or Membury, depending on your direction of travel, for a better selection.
