Junction 1 of the M3 sits at Sunbury Cross, linking the motorway with the A308. Southbound, the first exit is Junction 2, 5.6 miles away; northbound, the motorway begins at its interchange with the M25. The nearest motorway services are Fleet, around 21.5 miles away.

The nearest town to M3 Junction 1 is Sunbury-on-Thames, about 0.8 miles to the south-east. For somewhere larger, Ashford is 2 miles north-west. Inside the two-mile circle on the map below you will find 54 places to eat and drink, 5 pubs and 2 supermarkets.

This is where the M3 begins, so it is rarely where a journey pauses.
