Which junction for Legoland Windsor?

Legoland is commonly described as an M25 attraction and it is not really one. Junction 13 of the M25 is 4.7 miles away and routes you through Windsor town centre; Junction 6 of the M4 is 2.9 miles away, is the signed route, and keeps you out of the town altogether. Leave the M4 at Junction 6, follow the A355 towards Windsor, then pick up the B3022 Ascot road and the resort is signed from there.

If you are coming round the M25 from the south, leave at Junction 13 and join the M4 westbound for one junction rather than cutting across on the A308. It looks like a detour on the map and is usually quicker.

Practical notes

  • Parking Large paid car park with a preferred-parking tier nearer the entrance. The main park sits on a slope: it is a downhill walk in at the start of the day and an uphill one back to the car at the end, which is worth knowing if you are pushing a buggy.
  • Opening Seasonal, broadly mid-March to early November, with limited opening either side of that for the resort hotels. Closed on a good number of midweek dates in term time, and some rides are weather-dependent — the water rides in particular do not run in the cold shoulder months.
  • Worth knowing The resort sits in the gap between two motorways rather than beside one, so the last three miles are ordinary Berkshire road. Budget more time than the distance suggests at school pick-up hour, when the B3022 fills up with local traffic that has nothing to do with the park.
